Bangalore is the state capital and is the network of Information Technology in India. Shravanabelagola is situated towards the north-western side of Bangalore. The town has been popular for Jain art, architecture, religion and culture since ages back. About 2000 years back, Bhagawan Bhadrabahu, the earliest among the Jain Acharyas came to Shravanabelagola from Ujjain with his followers. Sravanbelogola is known to be the most famous religious site in Karnataka. They are crowded with tourists all around the year. It holds Asia’s tallest monolithic statue which is 17.38 meters high. The statue is of Gommateshwara and is a very important pilgrimage destination for the Jains.

Mysore is known as the ‘City of Palaces’. Mysore reflects the cultural heritage and traditions of Indian history. It is one of India’s favorite tourist’s destinations. The old monuments and buildings had been constructed in the royal Dravidian style of architecture. Chamundi hills and the Chamundeshwari Temple are two most visited religious places. Gokarna is a village in Karnataka. The literal meaning of the word Gokarna is “Cow’s ear”. The folklores say that Lord Shiva had emerged from the ear of a cow. The area converge the rivers Gangavali and Agnashini which represent the shape of a cow’s ear. It has some of the best beaches of Karnataka. 7. Nagahole National Park:
Karnataka’s Nagarhole National Park is probably the best place to see elephants as you get to be really close to them, that too in their natural habitat. You could be lucky to see herds of elephants on the river bank. The park is well maintained, with green forest, streams flowing by, and a lake. The tourists are taken around on an elephant back, a jeep , boating or they can even trek.
